Private institution hopes to put ASTRO-1 into orbit by mid-2020s.

Corning Inc. has given $1.8 million worth of high-tech components to a private organization looking to launch a telescope into space. The non-profit BoldlyGo Institute hopes to have its ASTRO-1 telescope in orbit by the mid-2020s.
