A large active sunspot has emitted yet another X-Class flare on October 27. This is the fourth solar flare since October 19. X-Class stands for the most intense flares and the number with it denotes its strength. Such massive flares have been recorded on the sun’s surface since past two decades.
More powerful flares erupting from the sunspot have been observed by NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory. It has also captured two M-Class flares erupting from the same area of the sun on October 26 and 27. The strength of M class flares is about one-tenth of that of X Class flares.
