Contaminated water from Colorado river not expected to affect California

The 3 million gallons of contaminated water released from a Colorado gold mine continued creeping downriver through New Mexico and toward Utah on Tuesday, though officials in Southern California say the contamination may take years to finally arrive here and would have little to no effect.
