Consumer Reports’ annual supermarket survey names Wegmans as country’s top Supermarket

Wegmans beat most favorite supermarkets like Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods to take the Consumer Reports crown. Joe’s came in third and Whole Foods was a surprising 15th on the list, even behind cut-rate chain Aldi and bulk store Costco.

The magazine surveyed nearly 63,000 of its readers about their shopping habits, ranking their local markets based on categories like cleanliness, cost, freshness and staff courtesy.
