Connecticut teen with cancer forced by state to undergo chemo treatments

A 17-year-old girl and her mother are battling with the government over the teen’s right to refuse cancer treatment, Fox CT reported.

The girl, identified as “Cassandra C.” was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma in September. At the time, doctors recommended she receive chemotherapy. After she refused treatment— with her mother’s support— Connecticut’s Department of Children and Families (DCF) stepped in.
