ConAgra moving headquarters to Chicago

ConAgra, manufacturer of processed food staples such as Reddi-Whip, Slim Jim and Swiss Miss, is cutting 1,500 non-plant jobs and moving its corporate headquarters to downtown Chicago in an effort to increase profits, the company announced Thursday.

For decades, the company has been based in Omaha, Neb., but has maintained a Chicago-area presence, most recently with a Naperville office that employs about 400 people.
