Common British Spider may Help Scientists Create Long Fibers

It is believed that a common British spider may help scientists make incredibly long fibers that are just a few nanometers thick.

According to researchers, the majority of spiders' spin-threads are numerous micrometers thick, but the spectacular 'garden centre spider' or 'feather-legged lace weaver' Uloborus plumipes can spin them much thinner.
