Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory collaborates with North Shore-LIJ for human subjects for cancer research

Based in Long Island’s North Shore, Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory – a cancer research and treatment laboratory is collaborating with North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System to carry out extensive research on genetic origins of cancers and potential drugs on real human subjects provided by North Shore-LIJ in a bold move that marks a marriage of clinical research with pure science.

“The hardest part of doing clinical research is enrolling patients in clinical trials,” said Dr. Kevin J. Tracey, chief executive of the Feinstein Institute for Medical Research at North Shore-L.I.J. “You have to have lots and lots of patients.”
