Co-owner of pharmacy in deadly outbreak pleads not guilty

One of the top officials at a Framingham company that sent tainted drugs across the country in 2012, killing 64 people, pleaded not guilty Thursday to federal charges that include 25 allegations of second-degree murder.

Barry J. Cadden who appeared in US District Court in Boston, faces a racketeering charge that includes allegations that he and another official murdered 25 people who died after getting injections of a tainted steroid made at the now-closed New England Compounding Center Inc..
