Chemo + Hormone Therapy Give Prostate Cancer Patients At Least a Year More to Live

An old, cheap chemotherapy drug when combine with the standard hormone therapy for men with advanced prostate cancer extended their life by at least a year more, a new study says.

The government-funded research subjected 790 prostate cancer patients to either chemical castration only or with chemo drug Docetaxel, which is sold under a brand name but also available in a cheaper generic version.
