Investment in venture-backed companies in Central Texas increased 3 percent during the first quarter compared with the same period last year. That's far below the comparable increase in VC investing nationwide, despite a decline in deal volume.
Local startups raised $236.9 million in the first three months of the year versus $230 million during the first quarter of 2014, according to Dow Jones VentureSource.
