CDC orders $2.7 million in personal protective equipment for Ebola patients

The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on Friday said that $2.7 million in personal protective gear has been ordered for health care workers at US hospitals treating Ebola patients.

According to the agency, the Ebola-specific protective equipment is being sorted into 50 kits that can be swiftly delivered to hospitals. Each kit contains enough gear to enable medical teams to care for one Ebola patient for up to five days.
