CDC, KDHE and Clinical Team working to learn more about Bourbon Virus

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) team is working along with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to investigate about a new virus that killed a resident of Bourbon County this summer.

The virus is called as Bourbon virus, named after the county where its first case was reported. Currently, not much is known about this virus. It is considered to be transmitted through the bites of ticks and other insects.
