CDC: Flu virus widespread on Colorado

DENVER — The Centers For Disease Control CDC ranks Colorado as one of several states where the flu is now widespread. An 18-month-old girl in Larimer county died from the flu and more than a hundred people in the state remain hospitalized.

Doctors predicted the flu season would hit early, but didn`t expect the CDC to announce that the virus has mutated, making the flu shot not quite as effective as hoped this season. Its effectiveness is rated at about 48 percent right now.
