CDC Finds Excessive Salt In Packaged Grocery Store Food In U.S.

According to a new study conducted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has found that packaged foods sold in grocery stores contain more salt than recommended by federal guidelines. Americans also get a lot of sodium from soups, cold cuts and bread.

The researchers looked at nearly 4,000 product labels in three different regions of the country. The study was published today in the journal Preventing Chronic Disease.
