CDC director's statements shift as crisis deepens

ATLANTA (WXIA) – Many people are siding with Democratic US Congressman David Scott, who is calling for travel to be curtailed from the west African nations where the Ebola pandemic is currently raging. The demands are becoming even more vocal, given new information surfacing that indicates the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention may have approved this week's airline travel of newly diagnosed Ebola patient Amber Vinson.

While President Obama continues to give CDC Director Dr. Thomas Frieden his support, many have been critical or even openly hostile about the way he has handled this crisis.
