Foodborne botulism is said to be unusual. But in New Mexico and in Ohio, there are two outbreaks that were reported. There are two people who suffered in New Mexico and were hospitalized in Texas. On the other hand, 19 people in Ohio were sickened at a church potluck. One of the patient died. All patients in that epidemic are being cured in Fairfield Medical Center in Lancaster, Ohio.
While health officials have not yet found out the source of the outbreak, in Ohio, there are 20 items that may cause botulism.
