The NASA spacecraft Cassini has observed light reflecting off Kraken Mare, huge hydrocarbon lake on the distant satellite Titan. The new image was captured on August 21, 2014. It is the first remarkable image of the precipitation cycle on an alien satellite.
For the first time ever, an infrared camera aboard Cassini took image of the sea, and sunlight reflecting from the body. Titan’s Lakes are generated mainly from methane and ethane, two fairly common chemicals on Earth.
