Carbon Dioxide Maps of Earth Revealed by NASA

For measuring the atmospheric carbon dioxide, NASA has launched its first satellite named Orbiting Carbon Observatory-2, or OCO-2. The scientists working with the space agency have for the first time unveiled the carbon maps that have been obtained by using data from this spacecraft.

Annmarie Eldering, OCO-2 deputy project scientist, based at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California stated that OCO-2 started collecting the scientifically useful information at the end of September and the initial results so generated "are quite amazing".
