A car containing several gas cylinders was found parked close to Paris’ Notre Dame cathedral over the weekend, and its owner – who is on a French intelligence service watch list – is now in custody, police announced Wednesday.
A police official told Reuters that one of the car’s hazard lights was flashing when it was found Saturday night. There were seven gas cylinders inside the car, with one empty cylinder in the front passenger seat, the official said. No detonating device was present.
