Cancer Death Rates Dropping Despite the Condition’s Persistence

Whether we credit research or healthier lifestyles or the better available of more treatment options, it appears that we may be putting up a major fight in the war on cancer. Over only the last twenty years or so, U.S. cancer deaths have fallen 22 percent—which has save approximately 1.5 million lives—according to the American Cancer Society.

But even though it appears that cancer rates are dropping, cancer also appears to be overtaking heart disease as the leader cause of death in the United States.
