It might be past time to call in the pest controller as the invasive species of cannibalistic camel crickets might have taken over your basement, when you were not looking. According to a new citizen science project, these crickets, which came originally from Asia, are very common in the US. In fact, these crickets are more numerous than people in the country.

These crickets have an arched back and long legs, with a thick body. They are mottled brown in color and are often called cave crickets, sprickets or greenhouse camel crickets.
