Calorie Content of Fast Food has not Changed during Past 17 Years

It has been learnt after a new investigation that no changes have occurred in calorie, salt and saturated fat content of fast food meals in the past 17 years. The study, led by Alice Lichtenstein, director of the US Department of Agriculture's Cardiovascular Nutrition Laboratory, saw comparison of the calorie, salt and saturated content of fast food meals from 1996 to 2013.

Fries, cheeseburgers, grilled chicken sandwiches and regular cola were among the foods checked by the researchers. The servings involved small, medium and large fries and cola beverages, a grilled chicken sandwich, and 2-ounce and 4-ounce cheeseburgers.
