WHO Calls For 16 Year, $34 Billion Fight Against NTDs

The World Health Organization has reached out to the world’s developing nations with a request to invest more money and research into neglected tropical diseases which already pose serious health risks to their respective publics. According to the WHO, an investment of $1 for each citizen every year until 2030 will make an enormous different in the fight against 17 primary NTDs, which represent very real and persistent for to over 1.5 billion people.

Over the coming 16 years, the WHO would like to see around $34 billion allocated to the fight against NTDs by the countries directly affected by them, which according to the organization often overlook their severity.
