LONDON — The British pound plummeted the most in six years Monday after Britain's popular and internationally-known mayor said he would oppose the government and campaign for the United Kingdom to withdraw from the European Union.
That's the biggest decline since Britain held a general election in May 2010, according to Bloomberg. The currency also dropped precipitously against other major rivals including the euro before recovering slightly.
