An engine on a British Airways jet caught fire during takeoff from Las Vegas on Tuesday, injuring seven passengers and disrupting air travel in the West, according to the airline, the airport and federal safety regulators.
Flight 2276 was rolling down the runway at McCarran International Airport, bound for London, when its left engine burst into flames around 4:13 p.m. local time, according to a spokesman for the Federal Aviation Administration and airport officials on Twitter.
