Breast Cancer and Moles, Needle Biopsy

Women with multiple cutaneous nevi, or moles, had as much as a 35% higher risk of breast cancer as compared with women who had no moles, long-term data from the Nurses' Health Study (NHS) showed.

Breast cancer risk increased with the number of nevi, ranging from a 4% excess risk in association with five or fewer nevi, to 35% among women who had 15 or more cutaneous nevi.
