Boeing Likely to get NASA contract for Space Taxies

According to the Wall Street Journal, the Chicago-based aerospace giant Boeing appears well-positioned to beat out two smaller rivals in a multibillion-dollar NASA contract to built space taxies, which will ferry astronauts to and from orbit.

Since the retirement of the space shuttle in 2011, the United States has been booking rides on Russian Soyuz flights, which is expected to continue through 2017. NASA relies on Russian rockets and capsules to fly U. S. astronauts to and from the space station.
