Bobbi Kristina Brown has been removed from her medically-induced coma, but she is still unresponsive and remains on life support, according a new medical report on her condition from People magazine on Feb. 25. Dr. Subhashini Ramesh, an expert in neurocritical care, explains that when a patient is brought out of a medically-induced coma, it is usually for two reasons: the underlying reasons for the coma has been resolved, or the patient’s doctors want to get a sense of how much the comatose patient can do on his or her own. Dr. Ramesh, who has not personally been involved in Bobbi Kristina’s medical care, was consulted by People magazine in order to understand the implications of her being removed from her coma. Dr. Ramesh is a professor of NeuroCritical Care at Georgia Regents University.
