Since news of the rock icon's death broke late Sunday night, sales of his final album, Blackstar, have skyrocketed. On Monday alone, Blackstar sold 64,000 copies — an increase of 893% compared to its first three days of release, according to Nielsen Music.
So far, Blackstar has sold more than 120,000 copies since Friday (Bowie's 69th birthday), about 70% of which (85,000) were digital sales. It's on track to become Bowie's first No. 1 album in the USA, pushing Adele's long-reigning 25 from its perch atop the Billboard 200 album chart.
