The city of Hartford is hoping to pay off a planned minor league baseball stadium with proceeds from the state's admission tax on tickets.

City leaders, including Mayor Pedro Segarra, appeared Monday before the legislature's Finance Revenue and Bonding Committee to support legislation that would transfer the 10 percent tax on each ticket, about $426,000 annually, to a special account used to pay down debt from building the stadium.
