Bay Area authority issues ‘Spare the Air’ alert

Friday, January 2 and Saturday, January 3, 2014, have been announced as the first ‘Spare the Air’ days due to smog and pollution. The Bay Area Air Quality Management District said the air quality is predicted to be unhealthy on these days.

Factors including a large dome of high-pressure, low winds and motor vehicle exhaust are expected to lead to pollution in the Bay area.
