BARNEGAT – In response to the growing spread of enterovirus D68, which played a role in the death of a 4-year-old-boy in Mercer County last month, Barnegat Township school officials announced they would increase the frequency of school and classroom cleaning.

“Our custodial and maintenance staff is taking precautionary measures on a regular basis,” read a statement posted to the district’s website.
