Babies And Gluten Apparently Are Just Fine

When rearing a child it is important to know when is a good time to start introducing them to different kinds of foods. Typically a newborn will eat only mother’s milk or formula and then after several months might graduate to the first “solid” food which is usually more like applesauce or baby food, something pureed, etc. But as a baby gets older and starts to hit those growth spurts, becomes more active, the time will swiftly come when you will need to introduce more complex carbohydrates and proteins to supply them with the energy they are going to need.

For children at risk for celiac disease, though, this timing is not as crucial as doctors originally believed, according to a new study published yesterday in the New England Journal of Medicine.
