Australia Targets Fighters Returning From Iraq, Syria With Anti-Terror Law

Australia will introduce legislation this week to curb the threat posed by foreign fighters returning from Iraq and Syria, after foiling an alleged Islamic State beheading plot.

The Foreign Fighters Bill will probably be introduced in the Senate on Sept. 24, and will be used “sparingly,” Attorney-General George Brandis told Sky News television in an interview yesterday.
