Astronomers Detect First Exoplanet Using New Method

According to astronomers, they have discovered the first exoplanet known to science back in 1995. The exoplanet, 51 Pegasi b is 50 light-years away. The researchers said 20 years later, that same planet has been found again. It does not mean that it was lost it is just that it was detected again with help of a new method.

According to the researchers, this technique includes comparing light reflecting off the planet's surface to the light of its star. For the first time visible light has been utilized as a detection method and might lead to the detection of new planets and new data about known planets.
