Astronauts on the International Space Station (ISS) can now enjoy their espresso coffee in space. Researchers from Italy have been developing an espresso machine that will be launched to the space station soon. The machine will be with a new cup, which is designed specially to work in the low-gravity environments. The cup will offer astronauts to have their coffee in a manner similar to the one experienced on the surface of earth.
The machine is capable of pumping water under high pressure into a pouch, where it can be drunk through a straw. Nathan Ott, a high school student, had represented the unique invention during Division of Fluid Dynamics Meeting of American Physical Society.
