'Arrow' and 'Flash' creator wants his shows 'to look and feel like America'

Comic book superhero Black Canary entered the Arrow universe last year, and she was not exactly what many fans expected. In addition to the mantle being worn by a different character (Sara instead of Laurel Lance), she was also a bisexual, who had a relationship with the titular Arrow as well as big bad Ra’s al Ghul’s daughter Nyssa. And on The Flash this week, the show introduced new villain Pied Piper, who happens to be gay.
