BUENOS AIRES, Argentina – Argentine Foreign Minister Héctor Timerman, who was accused along with President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner and others of conspiring to cover up Iran’s role in the 1994 AMIA bombing by the now-deceased prosecutor Alberto Nisman, explained that no one named in the allegations had anything to gain from his death.

Timerman answered his own question about Nisman’s death: “Who stood to benefit from the death of Nisman? Not me. Not the President.” If anything, Timerman said, he and Fernández de Kirchner and their families would actually have more to lose given the timing of the death.
