Area in middle of pack on AARP livability index

Fresh off its top ranking early this month as the country’s best place for overall well-being, Southwest Florida has landed in the middle of the pack when it comes to the Livability Index from AARP, unveiled Monday.

The nation’s most livable mid-sized city, according to this ranking, is Madison, Wisconsin, with an overall score of 68. That’s on a scale of zero to 100, with 50 being average. The top large city, San Francisco, scored 66.
