Antibiotics help improve symptoms in children with autism

Soon after John Rodakis’s report about his son’s autism symptoms improving after a course of amoxicillin prescribed for throat infection became popular, a new study has come up, showing that there is indeed a link between gut bacteria and autism.

The study, involving 45,000 Norwegian children, of whom 195 children were diagnosed with ASD, found that young children with autism had two and half times more chances to suffer from gastrointestinal problems during early as well as late infanthood.
