Antibiotics Equal in Skin Infections

Two widely prescribed antibiotics had similar cure rates in uncomplicated ambulatory skin and skin structure infections, researchers reported.

A randomized double-blind trial ruled out significant differences in outcomes between clindamycin (Cleocin) and trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole (TMP-SMX), according to Loren Miller, MD, of Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in Torrance, Calif., and colleagues.
