Andrew Lack Steps Down From Government Agency, Signaling NBC News Return

Andrew Lack on Wednesday announced that he will step down as director and CEO of the Broadcasting Board of Governors, the government agency he has headed only since January. His resignation signals a return to NBC News, where, sources say, an announcement that he'll take the top job occupied by Pat Fili-Krushel is expected imminently.

Throughout the negotiations, Lack has important advocates inside NBCUniversal including Matt Lauer and Tom Brokaw, who has been advising NBCUniversal CEO Steve Burke through the Brian Williams crisis.
