Americans Spend $4.2 Billion on Gluten Free Food and Can’t Stop Arguing Over it

Ask someone if they know what gluten is and they’ll probably tell you - the stuff in bread and grains. Recently, Jimmy Kimmel set up a not-so-scientific experiment to see if people who ate gluten free (GF) diets really knew what gluten was. The results were not so great, and led to many an entertaining article about gluten and gluten free posers. Some people swear that they have had a host of problems cured from removing gluten from their diets, and others, especially those who work in food service, wish it would all go away, and people would stop asking - does this have gluten?

One anonymous waitress recently expressed her frustration in a blog post which went viral.
