Counterterrorism officials told NBC News about the American's alleged involvement in what they say is the first time a U.S. citizen carried out a suicide bombing in the ongoing Syrian civil war. The unidentified American was apparently working for a section of international terrorist network called the Al-Nusra Front, known for violence throughout Syria and Lebanon.
