American Airlines flights to three of its largest U.S. hubs are being held on the ground at their departure airports because of a computer failure, slowing travel for thousands of passengers.
Planes bound for Chicago, Dallas and Miami won’t be allowed to take off until 2:30 p.m. New York time, the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration said on its website, citing “computer issues.” American’s website showed a “system error” in response to efforts to book a reservation.
