Amber Vinson, second nurse infected with Ebola, now virus-free, to be released

The 29-year-old will be released Tuesday from Emory University Hospital in Atlanta and is expected to make a statement at 1 p.m. before she heads home. She is the second nurse to contract — and be cured of — the disease in the U.S. The news comes as the CDC changes its protocols for returning health care workers, a move New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie says proves he was right with his strict quarantine measures in his state.

Amber Vinson, a Dallas nurse who contracted the virus from the first diagnosed case in the U.S., is free of the disease and will be released from the hospital Tuesday.
