Allman Brothers say farewell at New York's Beacon

The Allman Brothers capped a 45-year career with a four-hour, three-set show Tuesday at New York's Beacon Theater, a home away from home where they had played residencies for years.

According to the New York Times' Ben Ratliff who attended and live-tweeted the show, "the mood registered somewhere between steady and spooky: the sound of a band under pressure but peaceful, almost as if it were playing for itself.
