All about AR2192, the giant sunspot since 1990

The sunspot AR2192, the largest active region on the sun in over 24 years, peeked around the eastern limb of the Sun on October 18 and finally ducked around the western limb on October 29.

In these 11 days of its appearance, the sunspot's trip across the face of the Sun was indeed incredible because of its grand size. It showed up as a small black dot in the numerous photos of October 23rd partial solar eclipse.
