Alcoa Posts Strong Q1 Profit But Revenue Lacks Luster

but for the company that unofficially kicked off the earnings bonanza Wednesday afternoon, the first quarter brought less a disaster than it did a mixed bag of results. Alcoa Alcoa, the world’s third largest aluminum producer, reported its Q1 results after Wednesday’s closing bell, revealing that it surpassed Wall Street expectations with its bottom line but failed to beat the Street on the top line.

Excluding one-time restructuring charges, Alcoa posted $363 million in first quarter net income, or 28 cents per share, a figure that beat the 26-cent per-share Wall Street consensus.
